This has been my favorite, most comfortable bar where I feel the safest for twenty years. The original owner from Tejas who used to have Shiner kegs brought in is long gone, I guess, but it's a lovely Irish pub for people who find San Francisco to be our home. I always say: on the weekends, it's a great place to watch Footie with the Blokes, early in the morning. Any other business on Polk St could close and I would shrug. So many have. McTeagues is never going away, and I doubt I will ever feel unsafe here.

This is a cool pub to hang out and have a drink. Came in after dinner from across the street to have a drink. There was a $10 cover charge because they had the UFC fight on. Wasn't too busy, no cocktail waitress, have to order at the bar. JD & Coke made pretty strong. They also allowed dog inside, as there were 3 to 4 dogs there.
Good beer and great service. Haven't been there for a while but glad we stopped in for a beer and a pickle back.
Love a good dive bar that's spacious and with great decor, tons on tvs, great tunes and awesome service. Reserved the back bar for a private party. They roped off the back for us. Gave us access to our own speakers and tv, and checked in with us and was super attentive. Made sure we had water and a great time. Super grateful to the staff. Definitely a must, so check them out.
